The Wedding Day
As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing some of life’s most beautiful moments, and Debbie and Jason’s October wedding at Pendley Manor in Tring, Hertfordshire, was no exception.
Pendley Manor’s Oak Room, a personal favourite of mine for ceremonies, was where Debbie and Jason chose to exchange their vows. Its bright and beautifully decorated interior created an atmosphere of elegance and romance. The highlight was undoubtedly when Debbie, escorted by her son, made her grand entrance, walking down the aisle to meet Jason. The ceremony was heartfelt and full of joy, a true celebration of love.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with confetti in the Manor’s gardens. The celebration then moved to the Peacock Lounge for drinks and canapes. During this time, I mingled among the guests, capturing candid shots.
Toastmaster Simon Shirley played an essential role during the drinks reception, assisting me with the group photographs. His help in gathering the guests was invaluable, ensuring that the photo session was smooth and enjoyable. Following this, I took Debbie and Jason for a brief couple’s portrait session in the gardens. The Manor’s natural beauty provided a romantic setting, perfect for capturing their first moments as a married couple.
One of Pendley Manor’s most striking features is its grand staircase. During the wedding breakfast, I set up lighting to create a few dramatic and memorable portraits of Debbie and Jason on these stairs. These shots are a must-have for any couple getting married at this venue, offering a blend of elegance and grandeur that is truly unique.
The wedding breakfast concluded with heartfelt speeches and the cutting of the cake, a moment always filled with laughter and joy. The celebration then transitioned to the Simon Suite for the first dance. Set against Harry Styles’ “Sign of The Times”, the first dance was a standout moment, with guests singing along and the couple lost in each other’s embrace.
