Vicky & Pete’s Wedding at Shendish Manor

Vicky & Pete’s wedding at Shendish Manor Hotel was a relaxed September celebration, with an outdoor ceremony in the Apsley Suite Gardens followed by a lively evening inside the Apsley Suite. With warm sunshine, close family involvement, and plenty of entertainment throughout the day, their wedding made full use of both the gardens and indoor spaces at Shendish Manor.

The Wedding Day

As an experienced Hemel Hempstead wedding photographer, it was an absolute delight to capture Vicky and Pete’s wedding at Shendish Manor Hotel.

The morning began in the Bridal suite at Shendish Manor, where Vicky, accompanied by her daughter, Pete’s daughter, and her flower girl, prepared for the big day.

Their ceremony took place in the Apsley Suite Gardens, under the bright, warm September sun. The outdoor setting provided a stunning backdrop for the vows and the exchange of rings. After the ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with congratulations from their guests, leading into group shots with their families.

One of the highlights of the reception was the the incredible magician, Gary Schiffman. He is very entertaining and also provides a fantastic opportunity for me to capture a series of amazed and joyful reactions from the guests – truly a photographer’s delight.

The wedding breakfast, was served in the Apsley Suite and was followed by speeches delivered by Vicky’s son, Pete’s brother, and Pete himself. Each speech added a personal and touching layer to the day’s festivities.

The cake featured Minion toppers – a fun and personal touch from the bride and groom.

Evening celebrations began with the bride and groom’s first dance, which set the stage for a night of lively and joyous dancing on a packed dance floor.

As the night unfolded, one of my final captures was a romantic night-time shot at the Manor House gazebo a must have shot for any wedding at Shendish Manor.

Vicky and Pete’s wedding at Shendish Manor was a wonderful celebration. It was an honour to document their wedding day.

FAQs

Yes. I’ve photographed many weddings in the Apsley Suite and know how it works for ceremonies, wedding breakfasts, and evening celebrations.

Absolutely. This wedding included children throughout the day, and the venue works well for relaxed, inclusive celebrations.

Yes. Most couples book me for around 10 hours of coverage, which is usually enough to capture a good amount of the evening atmosphere and dance floor action. Additional hours can be added if you’d like me to stay later.

My approach is natural and documentary, focusing on real moments and interactions, with gentle direction only when needed.
