A bride and groom portrait at Shendish Manor during golden hour

Charlotte & Matt’s Wedding at Shendish Manor

A church ceremony and relaxed celebrations at Shendish Manor

Charlotte & Matt’s wedding day began with a traditional church ceremony at St Mary & St Joseph’s Church, followed by a relaxed and family-focused reception at Shendish Manor Hotel. From morning preparations and a colourful confetti exit to golden-hour garden moments and a lively evening celebration, their day unfolded naturally across two familiar Hemel Hempstead locations.

The Wedding Day

The day kicked off with an air of excitement at Shendish Manor, where I captured the bride getting ready for her big day. The atmosphere was abuzz with laughter and anticipation. In contrast, my second photographer spent the morning with Matt, capturing the relaxed vibe as he greeted guests at the Three Blackbirds pub, conveniently located near the church.

At St Mary & St Joseph’s Church, the ceremony was a heartfelt affair. Charlotte and Matt exchanged their vows, surrounded by family and friends. The standout moment? Definitely the confetti shot outside the church – a burst of colour and joy as the couple made their grand exit.

Upon arrival at Shendish Manor, guests enjoyed drinks in the shade. I captured group photos and intimate portraits of the couple in the Manor’s beautiful surroundings and with their stylish wedding car.

The wedding breakfast in the Longman Suite was followed by the speeches struck a perfect balance of emotion and humour, capturing the essence of the day.

As the evening rolled in, guests enjoyed the gardens, illuminated by the soft golden light – ideal for capturing natural, candid shots. The cake cut and the couple’s first dance, initiated a night filled with energetic dancing.

Charlotte and Matt’s wedding was a joyous celebration. If you’re planning your wedding in Hemel Hempstead or nearby, I’m here to capture the unique spirit of your special day.

Andy and his colleague captured the memories of our wedding and they were incredible. The photos were fantastically composed and beautifully finished.

What really blew us away was how great they were in the lead-up and on the day itself. They guided us and our guests into position efficiently and with a smile, making sure all the photos we wanted were taken.
