Bride and groom in the grounds of Shendish Manor

Kayleigh & Rob’s Wedding at Shendish Manor

Outdoor ceremony, garden moments, and a packed dance floor

Kayleigh & Rob’s wedding day took place at Shendish Manor, with an outdoor gazebo ceremony surrounded by the gardens, followed by relaxed celebrations in the Apsley Suite. From bridal prep in the Manor to garden drinks, group photos, golden light portraits, and a lively evening with a live band, their day flowed naturally and made full use of the venue’s indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Wedding Day

As a wedding photographer, I am always thrilled to capture the special moments of a couple’s big day. Kayleigh and Rob’s wedding at Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Course in Hertfordshire was a beautiful celebration filled with love, laughter, and joy.

The bride, Kayleigh, got ready in the bridal suite surrounded by her bridesmaids, and it was clear that she was feeling excited and nervous.

The wedding ceremony was held outside at the Gazebo, surrounded by the gardens of Shendish Manor. Kayleigh was walked down the aisle by her mum. After the ceremony, there were lots of hugs of congratulations and a drinks reception in the Apsley Suite Garden. I took group shots, including a group shot of the bride and groom with all their guests, and made use of the beautiful surroundings for some portraits.

The wedding breakfast was served in the Apsley Suite, where the tables were beautifully decorated. After the wedding breakfast, I took the opportunity to capture some more portraits with the couple in the beautiful golden light. The evening celebrations began with the cutting of the cake, which was done next to a giant cardboard cut-out of their dog, who was greatly missed on the day. The live band played their first dance, entertaining the wedding guests and interacting with those who were dancing.

Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Course is a stunning venue set in 160 acres of parkland and formal gardens. The venue provided the perfect setting for Kayleigh and Rob’s special day, and every detail was thought of and executed flawlessly, making for a wedding that the couple and their guests will never forget. The evening guests partied away in the Apsley Suite, and I was there to capture all the memorable moments of their celebration.

  • Told the story of our day beautifully

Andy was amazing. He took the time to get to know us, so he could tell the story of our day through his photography.

It also helped that he knew our venue particularly well, so he knew exactly where to capture the most stunning shots at the right times of day. Highly recommend.

FAQs

Yes. I’m a recommended supplier at Shendish Manor and have photographed many weddings across both the Manor House and the Apsley Suite, including indoor and outdoor ceremonies.

Yes. The gazebo and gardens work really well for outdoor ceremonies, with plenty of space for guests and great light for photography.

Group photos often work well in the Apsley Suite Gardens, close to the reception space so guests aren’t taken away for long.

Absolutely. I usually take portraits around the gardens and nearby spots, keeping them relaxed and efficient so you can get back to your guests quickly.

Most couples book around 10 hours, which usually covers a good amount of evening atmosphere and dancing. Extra hours can be added if you’d like me to stay later.
