Wedding ceremony in the Oak Suite at Pendley Manor

Kerry & Dave’s Wedding at Pendley Manor

A relaxed Pendley Manor wedding with family at the heart of the day

Kerry & Dave’s wedding day took place at Pendley Manor, one of my closest and most photographed wedding venues, just outside Tring. Their July celebration was relaxed, emotional, and completely family-focused. From bridal prep on site, to a heartfelt Oak Room ceremony involving their children, drinks in the Peacock Lounge, speeches back in the Oak Room, and a high-energy evening party in the Harcourt Ballroom, the day had a brilliant flow from start to finish.

The Wedding Day

My coverage began with bridal prep at Pendley Manor, where Kerry was getting her hair and makeup done by Renu Plahe. She was joined by her mum and daughter, creating a calm, family-centred start to the day.

The ceremony took place in the Oak Room, a bright and elegant space that works beautifully for weddings. Kerry and Dave’s ceremony was full of emotion and big smiles, with their children playing a key role throughout. Kerry’s daughter was a bridesmaid, while Dave’s three daughters were all involved, including readings during the ceremony and best woman duties for his eldest daughter. It was a genuinely personal ceremony and a joy to photograph.

After the ceremony, guests gathered in the Peacock Lounge before heading outside to enjoy Pendley Manor’s grounds.

The wedding breakfast was served back in the Oak Room and was followed by speeches from Kerry’s father, Dave, and Dave’s daughter. The speeches were full of humour and warmth, with lots of great reactions around the room.

The evening reception moved into the Harcourt Ballroom, a large space perfect for a big party. The room was styled with a black and white dance floor and light-up letters, with entertainment including a magic mirror and live music from the Blue Rinse Band. The dance floor stayed busy and the atmosphere was brilliant right through the evening.

  • Unobtrusive all day, with a perfect mix of formal and candid photos

Andy is an excellent photographer, and on our special day he took so many wonderful photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. He arrived on time and, having pre-planned the photos with us, was able to get started immediately.

He also responded to guest requests for photos we hadn’t thought of. During the ceremony, pre-drinks reception, reception, and evening, he was barely noticeable as he went about his work.

His photos are a brilliant mix of formal and informal, and they work so well together. Some of our favourites are the photos on the grand staircase at Pendley Manor Hotel.

Andy, you really helped to make our day so special. If we ever need a photographer again, you’d be top of our list. Thank you so much.

Absolutely. It’s bright, elegant, and works well for both ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, with great natural light.

Yes. The Harcourt Ballroom is ideal for evening parties, and I’m very comfortable photographing live bands and packed dance floors there.

Most couples book around 10 hours, which usually covers prep through to a good chunk of the evening party. Extra coverage can be added if needed.
