Danielle & Dean’s Wedding at Sopwell House

A church ceremony and lively reception at Sopwell House

Danielle and Dean celebrated their wedding at Sopwell House, following a church ceremony at St Mary’s Church. From a calm morning of preparations through to a lively reception with surprise entertainment and a sparkler send-off, their day was full of fun, emotion, and brilliant moments.

The Wedding Day

My coverage of Danielle and Dean’s wedding day began with bridal preparations at Danielle’s parents’ home in Leverstock Green. Danielle had her hair and makeup done by Shanaz, The Makeup Girl, and it was a relaxed, enjoyable morning to photograph. Alongside documenting the prep, I captured details including Danielle’s dress hanging in the hallway and her pink and white rose bouquet.

While I was with Danielle, my second photographer was with Dean at his flat in Hemel Hempstead, photographing him getting ready with his groomsmen.

The ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church in Old Town Hemel Hempstead. After the service, the rain arrived just in time, so we quickly captured a confetti shot before everyone headed for cover and made their way to the reception. Danielle and Dean travelled to Sopwell House in style in a 1930s Beauford Tourer.

Thankfully, the weather cleared by the time we arrived at Sopwell House. During the reception, I photographed group shots with family and friends before taking Danielle and Dean into the gardens for relaxed couple portraits.

One of the highlights of the day came at the end of the wedding breakfast, when Danielle and Dean surprised their guests with ‘The Best Singing Waiters’. The performance was brilliant and had guests up on their feet singing, dancing, and even joining a conga line. It completely transformed the atmosphere and made for some fantastic photos.

The day ended with another highlight, as all the guests gathered outside for a sparkler photo, a perfect way to finish a brilliant celebration.

Congratulations to Danielle and Dean.
