The Wedding Day

The day began with Liz getting her hair and makeup done, surrounded by the warmth and support of her bridesmaid and her mother. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation, and it was a joy to capture these intimate moments. Meanwhile, Olly was in for a surprise. A dart board was set up in one of the reception rooms, and he enjoyed a spontaneous tournament with a few of his friends, adding a playful touch to the morning’s preparations.

The ceremony took place in the Garden Room, a lovely space adorned with beautiful stained glass windows that added a touch of elegance and serenity. The natural light streaming through the windows created a perfect setting for Liz and Olly to exchange their vows. It was a heartfelt ceremony, filled with love and joy, and I was thrilled to capture every precious moment.

Following the ceremony, guests were entertained by the talented magician Paul Megram. His tricks left everyone in awe, and it was wonderful to photograph the astonished expressions and laughter of the guests. This unique touch added an extra layer of magic to the day, making it truly unforgettable.

The spring day was perfect for outdoor portraits, with the garden in full bloom. Daffodils added a splash of colour to the lush greenery, creating a stunning backdrop for Liz and Olly’s portraits. The couple’s love for each other was evident in every shot, and the garden at Missenden Abbey provided the ideal setting for capturing these beautiful moments.

The wedding breakfast was a delightful affair, with heartfelt speeches delivered between courses. The father of the bride, Liz, Olly, and the best man all shared touching and humorous stories, adding a personal touch to the celebration. These candid moments of laughter and emotion were a joy to photograph, reflecting the close bonds shared by family and friends.

As the evening unfolded, the couple cut their wedding cake, followed by a romantic first dance in the Garden Room. Later, Liz and Olly surprised everyone by donning giant masks of their beloved cats, dancing and entertaining their guests with their playful antics. It was a light-hearted and fun conclusion to a wonderful day.

To cap off the day, we took a night time portrait that captured the enchanting ambiance of Missenden Abbey. The soft lighting and historic architecture provided a magical setting for this final shot, encapsulating the love and joy of Liz and Olly’s special day.
