Meera & Christopher’s Hindu Wedding at Shendish Manor

A vibrant Hindu ceremony with a beautifully styled mandap

Meera and Christopher’s Hindu wedding took place at Shendish Manor, and marked the final day of their multi-day Indian wedding celebrations. After photographing their civil ceremony, reception, and Meera’s Pithi ceremony earlier in the week, it was a real pleasure to document such a meaningful and vibrant ceremony surrounded by family.

The Wedding Day

My coverage for Meera and Christopher’s wedding day began with Meera having her bridal makeup done in the Bridal Suite at Shendish Manor. It was a calm start to the day before the energy of the ceremony began.

The Hindu wedding ceremony took place in the Apsley Suite, which had been beautifully transformed, with the mandap as the main focal point. Hindu ceremonies are always a joy to photograph, with so many meaningful rituals, traditions, and emotional moments happening throughout.

After the ceremony, I used the mandap as the backdrop for family group photos. There was a long and detailed group list requested by Meera and Christopher, so efficiency was key. With the help of Toastmaster Jango, who kept everything running smoothly, we worked through the list quickly while keeping the atmosphere relaxed.

Once the group photos were complete, I took Meera and Christopher for a short walk around the grounds for wedding portraits, making the most of the gardens and giving them a little time together after the ceremony.

In the afternoon, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the garden. It was a lovely sunny day, and a magician entertained guests with close-up magic, which created some great candid moments.

The evening celebrations began with the cutting of the cake, followed by the first dance and a packed dance floor. Speeches followed later in the evening before more dancing and celebrations continued.

It was an absolute pleasure photographing Meera and Christopher, and their families, across their multi-day wedding celebrations.
