The Wedding Day

As a Milling Barn wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing Daisy and David’s wedding day. Milling Barn, nestled near Buntingford, Hertfordshire, served as a picturesque backdrop for this autumnal wedding.

The day began with the bridal preparations at Milling Barn. It was a lively and entertaining morning, filled with laughter and joy as Daisy and her bridesmaid did each other’s hair and makeup. The atmosphere was light-hearted and full of anticipation for the day ahead.

The wedding ceremony was held in the Oak Barn, a stunning 17th Century barn brimming with character. The ceremony was beautifully emotional, marked by happy tears from Daisy, creating heartfelt moments that were a joy to photograph.

Post-ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted with a vibrant confetti shower as they exited the Oak Barn. This was followed by a few group shots.

Taking advantage of the fading autumn light, we ventured out for portrait sessions. We utilized the road leading up to Milling Barn and even included some friendly horses from the adjoining field, adding a unique touch to Daisy and David’s portraits.

The drinks reception was held in the Dairy Barn, where I captured candid moments of the couple and their guests.

The Milling Barn, adorned with handmade bunting by the bride’s mother, provided a cozy and personalised setting for the wedding breakfast. The decorations added a special, homemade charm to the barn’s ambiance.

One of my favourite captures from the day was a night-time silhouette of the couple by the Oak Tree. Using coloured gels on a flash to illuminate the tree’s trunk, I laid on the ground near a puddle to capture their reflection. This technique added a magical and artistic touch to the photo, making it a standout photo from the wedding.

The evening festivities commenced with the cake cutting, featuring a stunning cake made by Daisy. The first dance opened up a lively dance floor, setting the tone for a night of fun and celebration. Adding to the entertainment, an incredibly talented caricaturist created amusing and memorable portraits of the bride, groom, and guests.

Capturing Daisy and David’s wedding at Milling Barn was an absolute delight. As a Milling Barn wedding photographer, I strive to capture the essence of each couple’s unique story, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
