Kimberley & Joe’s Wedding at Chicheley Hall

An elegant ballroom ceremony and relaxed summer reception at Chicheley Hall

Kimberley and Joe chose to celebrate their wedding at Chicheley Hall on a glorious summer’s day. From a calm morning of preparations inside the Hall to a ballroom ceremony and a relaxed champagne reception on the lawns, their wedding was elegant, joyful, and full of thoughtful moments shared with friends and family.

The Wedding Day

I had previously met Kimberley and Joe for their engagement shoot at Ashridge in Hertfordshire, so I was really looking forward to their wedding day at Chicheley Hall.

My coverage began with bridal preparations in Chicheley Hall’s beautiful bridal suite. I photographed the early moments of the morning along with detail shots of Kimberley’s wedding dress, which was embellished with French lace and Swarovski crystals. The calm, light-filled space was perfect for capturing relaxed and natural prep moments.

Joe was getting ready in a room just below the bridal suite, which worked brilliantly. It allowed me to photograph both Kimberley and Joe preparing for the day without rushing between locations. One of the highlights of the morning was capturing their reactions as they opened the gifts they had exchanged with one another.

The wedding ceremony took place in the Ballroom, a stunning space with a grand staircase that Kimberley descended as she entered the room. The ceremony was lovely and included readings from Kimberley’s niece and cousin, adding a personal and meaningful touch.

After the ceremony, guests made their way outside onto the lawn for a champagne reception. The summer weather was perfect, and guests spent the afternoon enjoying garden games including quoits, giant badminton, and Connect Four.

During the reception, I photographed relaxed group portraits of Kimberley and Joe with their family and friends before heading off with the couple for a walk around the grounds to capture some natural portraits together.

Chicheley Hall offers fantastic photographic opportunities. The long driveway makes a beautiful backdrop for portraits, and the duck pond is another great spot that works especially well for relaxed couple photos.
