Katie & Brinsley’s Wedding at Leeds Castle
A historic castle wedding with portraits across the Leeds Castle grounds
Katie and Brinsley were married at Leeds Castle, one of the most iconic and visually striking wedding venues in the UK.
I photographed their wedding as a second photographer, working alongside London-based wedding photographer Robin Ball. With a venue as vast and detailed as Leeds Castle, having two photographers allowed for comprehensive coverage of both the preparation and the day itself, from quiet moments behind the scenes to the scale and atmosphere of the castle and its grounds.

The Wedding Day
My coverage of Katie and Brinsley’s wedding began with Brinsley and his groomsmen as they got ready ahead of the ceremony. This allowed me to capture relaxed, candid moments while Robin photographed Katie preparing in the Castle State Bedroom.
Later in the morning, I joined Robin to photograph Katie just before she made her way down to the Ceremony Room, capturing those final, quiet moments before the day truly began.
The wedding ceremony itself was held inside the castle and was a lovely, emotional service. Throughout the ceremony, I provided a secondary angle, focusing on guest reactions, wider views of the room, and moments that complemented the primary coverage.
After the ceremony, guests gathered outside the castle for a large group photograph, making the most of the incredible backdrop. Robin and I then took Katie and Brinsley for a series of portraits around the castle grounds.
Leeds Castle offers an incredible variety of locations for wedding photography, from sweeping lawns to historic stonework and water views. The venue staff were brilliant, transporting us by golf buggy to several of their favourite spots, which allowed us to capture a wide range of portraits efficiently without keeping the couple away from their guests for too long.
Once back inside the castle, Robin photographed formal group photos with family and friends, while I focused on documentary-style images of guests exploring the castle and detail shots inside the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall. Capturing these quieter, in-between moments added depth to the story of the day and reflected the unique experience Leeds Castle offers to wedding guests.
