Bride Prep at Fanhams Hall

Coverage began with Julie getting ready with her bridesmaids and her young son close by. It was a relaxed start to the day with plenty of smiles and those lovely little in between moments that happen during prep, especially with a toddler in the mix.

Groom Prep and Final Touches

I also spent time with Ed as he got ready, capturing the final details and the build up before the ceremony. A few simple moments here add so much context to the story, especially before the pace of the day picks up.

A Long Gallery Ceremony with a Star Wars Entrance

The ceremony took place in the stunning Long Gallery at Fanhams Hall. Ed and his groomsmen made their entrance first, marching down the aisle to the Star Wars Imperial March, which instantly set a fun, lighthearted tone.

Then it was time for the bridesmaids, followed by Julie arriving with her father.

One of the standout moments throughout the ceremony was their son as ring bearer. He was adorable, crawling around and keeping everyone smiling while the vows took place.

Cake Cutting Before Confetti

After the ceremony, we headed downstairs and Julie and Ed cut their cake while guests made their way outside ready for confetti. It was a great way to keep the flow moving and get everyone in place without any awkward waiting.

Confetti Outside Fanhams Hall

Then came the confetti, and there was loads of it. Julie and Ed walked straight into a wall of cheers and colour, with some brilliant reactions from guests and plenty of energy.

Drinks Reception, Hugs and Lawn Games

The drinks reception had a lovely atmosphere. Lots of hugs, lots of catching up, and plenty of candid moments as everyone relaxed into the day. Guests also enjoyed games of cornhole on the lawn, which always gives great photo opportunities and keeps the energy up.

Family, Bridal Party and the Big Group Photo

We kept group photos organised and efficient, starting with family groups, then bridal party photos, and finishing with a big group shot of everyone. I took a couple of versions, including one with cheers and hands in the air for a bit of extra personality.

First Portraits by the Pond

For the first set of couple portraits we stayed close to the house, using the pond and gardens with the manor as a backdrop. Fanhams Hall works brilliantly for this because you can get a lot of variety without being away from guests for long.

Harry Potter Details in the Great Hall

Inside, the Great Hall looked incredible for the wedding breakfast, with Harry Potter themed tables that brought so much character to the room. It was one of those setups where you can tell time and effort has gone into the details, and it photographed beautifully.

Napkin Wave Entrance, Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

Julie and Ed made their entrance with guests waving napkins in the air, which instantly lifted the atmosphere in the room. Speeches followed from the father of the bride, the groom and the best man, with a great mix of laughter and emotion.

Tailors Surprise Singers

After the meal, everyone was entertained by Tailors Surprise Singers. They performed personalised pop song lyrics about Julie and Ed and their key guests, including family members and the bridal party. It was hilarious, completely unexpected, and brilliant for photos because the reactions were priceless.

Second Portraits Around the Grounds

Later we headed further into the grounds for a second set of portraits. We made our way to the wisteria walkway, then down towards the far ponds. The bridge over the water gave us a lovely spot for portraits, with the Japanese tea house in the background to finish the set.

First Dance, Karaoke and a Packed Evening

The first dance kicked off the evening celebrations, then the party turned into karaoke with the brilliant band The Marylebones. Guests threw themselves into it, singing their hearts out and creating a dance floor full of energy and real moments.

Champagne Spray Finale

Coverage finished with a champagne spray shot, which was a lot of fun to capture and a brilliant way to end the story with something bold and memorable.
