Ann & Chris’ Wedding at De Vere Latimer Estate

The morning began with Ann getting ready at her parents’ house in Beaconsfield, joined by her bridesmaids. There was a lovely atmosphere from the start, with hair and makeup underway, gifts for the bridesmaids, and all the little moments that make this part of the day so personal.

Arrival at the church

At St. Mary & All Saints’ Church, I started with some portraits of Chris and his groomsmen under the church porch before the bridesmaids and Ann arrived. With the weather still unsettled, the porch gave us a great sheltered spot.

Church wedding ceremony at St. Mary & All Saints’ Church

Ann and Chris’ ceremony took place at St. Mary & All Saints’ Church in Beaconsfield, surrounded by family and friends. Church ceremonies always have a different rhythm to them, and this one had a lovely balance of warmth, tradition, and genuine emotion.

Confetti outside the church

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for confetti. This is always one of the happiest parts of the day, and it worked beautifully here, with Ann and Chris walking out to cheers and a brilliant burst of colourful confetti before taking a few moments to greet their guests.

Group photos outside the church

We also made the most of the church setting for the first set of family group photos. Keeping these efficient meant Ann and Chris still had time to enjoy the moment without this part of the day taking over. It was a good chance to get the key family combinations done before heading on to the reception.

Bubbles on arrival at De Vere Latimer Estate

Once everyone arrived at De Vere Latimer Estate, guests gathered outside to welcome Ann and Chris to their reception with bubbles at the doorway. It was a fun alternative to confetti at the venue and gave this part of the day a really celebratory feel as they arrived.

Drinks reception in the Cavendish Bar

As soon as Ann and Chris got inside, the weather turned, so the drinks reception stayed indoors in the Cavendish Bar for the rest of that part of the day. It worked really well though, and rather than feeling like a compromise, it gave everyone a cosy space to settle into the reception. Guests were also entertained by magician Ian Souch, which added plenty of reactions and candid moments as people chatted and laughed.

Group photos

We had a brief dry spell and attempted a few more group photos at the front of the house, but after a couple it became clear the weather was not going to hold. Rather than forcing it, we moved the rest indoors. That is often the best way to handle a day like this, quick decisions, keeping things relaxed, and making sure the couple still get the photos they want without spending the whole drinks reception watching the sky.

Bond-themed wedding breakfast details

Before guests took their seats, I photographed the wedding breakfast details, and this room looked brilliant. Ann and Chris had gone for a Bond theme, with tables named after different Bond films and cardboard cutouts of Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan adding a lot of personality to the setup. The colourful chair sashes brought everything together really well, and the cake, decorated with bright flowers and penguin figurines, suited the fun feel of the day perfectly.

Wedding breakfast candids

Ann and Chris made their entrance welcomed in with loads of cheering from their guests. From there, I focused on candid moments around the room as guests chatted, settled in, and reacted to more magic happening during the meal.

Portraits in the gardens and on the staircase

During the meal, there was a welcome break in the rain, so we made the most of it and stepped outside for some portraits in the gardens between courses. This worked really well because it meant Ann and Chris could get a few relaxed outdoor images without disappearing for too long. We also took a romantic portrait on the staircase, which added something a little different to the gallery and suited the venue perfectly.

Speeches

The speeches came from the father of the bride, the best men, and then Ann and Chris together. One of the standout moments was Ann presenting her parents with t-shirts reading I survived my daughter’s wedding. It got a great reaction and was exactly the sort of personal touch that makes speeches memorable.

Group shot with all the guests

At the end of the meal, there was another dry spell, so we headed back outside and made the most of the opportunity to create a big group shot with Ann and Chris and all their guests, with the house behind them. It was well worth taking advantage of the weather window, and it gave them a brilliant photo that really captured everyone who had been part of the day.

Cutting the cake and first dance in the Cavendish Suite

After that, everyone headed back inside for the cake cut and first dance in the Cavendish Suite. Pierce Brosnan was, of course, watching on from his cardboard cutout position. It was a lovely transition into the evening celebrations, with guests gathered around the dance floor ready for the party to properly begin.

A lively ceilidh

The ceilidh that followed was huge fun and exactly the kind of evening entertainment that always works brilliantly in photos. It gets everyone involved, creates loads of movement, and fills the dance floor straight away. There was so much energy in this part of the evening, and it made for a fantastic final stretch of coverage.

Champagne spray on the front steps

To round the evening off, we headed outside for a champagne spray shot on the front steps. It was a very fun way to end the day. These shots always feel full of energy, and this one made a brilliant final image for the gallery.

A huge congratulations again to Ann and Chris. Their wedding was such a lovely example of how a day can still feel relaxed, fun, and full of personality even when the weather keeps changing.
