The Wedding Day
As an Addington Palace wedding photographer, I had the honour of capturing the enchanting December wedding of Andrea and Nick at the historic Addington Palace, an 18th-century mansion located in the London borough of Croydon in the Surrey countryside.
The day began with groom prep, where I photographed Nick, his best man, and ushers as they prepared for the ceremony. The morning was filled with excitement and a sense of camaraderie, punctuated by a glass of fizz to celebrate the occasion.
Soon after, Andrea arrived at Addington Palace. I captured the final touches of her makeup and took some beautiful shots of her with her bridesmaids, encapsulating the anticipation and joy of the moments before the ceremony.
The ceremony took place in the Winter Garden, a bright and airy ceremony space at Addington Palace. Decorated beautifully, the space provided a stunning backdrop for the service. The event was filled with emotional moments and laughter, all of which I captured alongside my second photographer, who provided additional angles and perspectives.
Following the ceremony, I focused on candid photography, capturing the bride and groom as they were congratulated by their guests. We then moved to the front of the manor house for a few couple portraits before the winter light faded. Group photographs were taken in The Morning Room, featuring the elegant marble fireplace.
The wedding breakfast was served in The Great Hall, a room that exudes grandeur and history. Speeches from the bride, groom, the maid of honour, and the best man added a personal and heartfelt touch to the meal.
One of the highlights of the day was capturing dramatic portraits of the happy couple on Addington Palace’s grand staircase. These images were my personal favourites from the day, showcasing the majestic ambiance of the venue.
After the meal, the bride changed into a stunning bright red dress. We seized this opportunity for more portraits, this time in the Wellington Room. The furnishings in this room provided a perfect backdrop for these unique and captivating portraits.
The evening came alive with a packed dance floor in the Great Hall. Andrea and Nick’s band kept the energy high, leading to a night of spirited dancing and fun. The atmosphere was electric, with guests dancing joyfully and celebrating the couple’s union.
Andrea and Nick’s wedding at Addington Palace was a truly lovely day, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As an Addington Palace wedding photographer, it was a privilege to document their celebration and create lasting memories in such a magnificent setting. Addington Palace Wedding Photography
If you’re planning a wedding at Addington Palace and looking for an Addington Palace wedding photographer, it’s a venue that works beautifully for relaxed wedding photography, with plenty of variety across the day.
One of the best things about Addington Palace from a photography point of view is how easily the day can move between very different-looking spaces. You can have a ceremony in the Winter Garden, portraits around the house and outside, and then speeches and the evening celebration in the larger reception rooms, all while keeping everything on one site. That always helps the day feel smooth and gives you a good mix of images without needing to travel anywhere else.
