Jodie and David got married in July at the luxury boutique hotel, The Manor Elstree, which is a stunning Tudor House in Hertfordshire. It was such a fun wedding and even the rain didn’t dampen the day! Below is a selection of photos from their fantastic wedding day.
The Manor Elstree Wedding
Jodie and David’s wedding was the fourth wedding that I’ve photographed at Laura Ashley The Manor, however, it was the first where bridal prep was at the venue and the first with a civil ceremony at the venue.
My wedding photography coverage of the day started in the bridal suite photographing Jodie together with her bridesmaids and Jodie’s mum as they had their hair and makeup done. Jodie’s mum was a superstar not only had she arranged all the wedding flowers in the morning she had also been busy working away on a sewing machine as a last-minute problem had emerged. One of Jodie’s bridesmaids had had her luggage containing her bridesmaid dress stolen on the way to the wedding. Fortunately, Jodie had a spare bridesmaid dress so Jodie’s mum jumped into action altering the dress to fit.
The wedding ceremony took place in The Cavendish. Jodie was walked down the aisle by her Dad. The ceremony was lovely, the Cavendish is a lovely ceremony room.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the day wasn’t great. Rain was forecast for the majority of the day. As the ceremony ended there was a dry spell, so, we took advantage of this and head straight outside for a confetti shot. As the rain was holding off we went straight into the gardens for some couple shots of the Jodie and David.
The rain soon came back, so the majority of guests head back inside to the bar. Jodie and David had hired ‘Mr & Mrs Mini Golf’ who provided a fantastic 9-hole crazy golf course which was set up in the garden of Laura Ashley The Manor. A few brave guests stayed outside and enjoyed a round of Crazy Golf and made use of the novelty golfing props which were provided by the company. The mini umbrellas came in handy!
Wedding breakfast was served in The Cavendish. The room was decorated beautifully featuring tall vases with floral displays.
Following wedding breakfast, speeches were given by Jodie’s dad, David’s brother who was best man for the day and finished with an emotional speech from David. I love taking photos of the speeches as they can often result in some fantastic documentary style wedding photos.
Following the speeches, a few more guests braved the rain to play crazy golf. Guests were competing for a trophy for the winner with the best round. If you are looking for entertainment for your wedding then I would highly recommend ‘Mr & Mrs Mini Golf’ Guests thoroughly enjoyed it and it led to some lovely wedding photos.
The evening entertainment was provided by Just Smile who had set up a checkerboard dance floor in which soon filled up after the first dance.
I had a fantastic time photographing Jodie and David’s wedding. If you would like to see more from their wedding please view the wedding photography highlight slideshow below. The slideshow is set to the music of Jodie’s and David’s first dance.
