“We can't thank you enough”

“Thanks, Andy for our incredible wedding pictures, you captured all the details and moments of our day, we couldn’t have asked for more. You were so easy and friendly on the day, which several of the wedding party commented on. We can’t thank you enough and would certainly recommend you.”

The Gatsby, Berkhamsted Wedding

Ellie and Sam’s Wedding

Ellie and Sam got married on the 1st October 2016. Their wedding ceremony took place at Holy Rood Church in Watford and was followed by their wedding reception at The Gatsby in Berkhamsted.

I had been looking forward to Ellie and Sam’s wedding ever since they booked me as I had wanted to shoot a wedding at The Gatsby on Berkhamsted High Street.

My day began photographing Ellie with her bridesmaids as she had her hair and makeup done at her parent’s home in Watford. It was a good fun morning with plenty of high fives, hugs, and selfies.

Holy Rood Church, Watford

The wedding ceremony was at Holy Rood Church in Watford. It was my second visit in two weeks as I had just shot Mary and James’ wedding there the previous weekend.

The wedding ceremony was lovely it was performed by Bishop Paul and included music played by a brass band consisting of friends of the couple.

After the ceremony, guests gathered in the Church’s garden to throw confetti over the couple before all making their way to Berkhamsted for the wedding reception at The Gatsby.

On the way to The Gatsby, Ellie and Sam and I made a quick stop off at Berkhamsted Castle for a few wedding portraits. We had a quick walk around the grounds and got some lovely photos including One of my favourite shots from the year, a silhouette of the couple kissing by the on the banks of the castle wall.

The Gatsby, Berkhamsted

On arrival at the Gatsby, I took a few group photos of the couple with their family and friends and then it was soon time for guests to sit down for wedding breakfast. Speeches were given between courses, this worked fantastically well. The groom’s speech on this occasion was given last at the end of the meal as guests enjoyed Mr & Mrs cocktails. Sam’s speech was given in the bar area and ended with a slideshow of photos of the couple.

The formal part of the day was rounded off with the couple cutting their wedding cake and the first dance to an acoustic version of Everlong by the Foo Fighters before the real partying began!

I had a lovely time photographing Ellie and Sam’s wedding day. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
