Chelsea and Tom had a festival themed South Farm wedding on a lovely sunny day in mid-September.
My coverage of the wedding began with Chelsea for preparation photos in the Bridal Suite. Her Mum and her bridesmaids joined Chelsea. It was a good fun morning with plenty of laughs.
South Farm is a fantastic wedding venue near Royston on the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire border. It is one of my favourite wedding venues to work at; the outdoor spaces have so much charm and character, so it is great for stunning wedding photos. Chelsea and Tom added to the character by setting up large brightly coloured festival flags all around the ceremony space.
The outdoor ceremony was lovely. Chelsea and Tom said their vows on the Summerhouse over the lily pond as their friends and family watched from the opposite bank. Chelsea’s brother performed on the acoustic guitar during the signing of the register it was a lovely atmosphere.
The drinks reception in the gardens and was nice and chilled out, kids played with a bubble machine, and outdoor games and guests enjoyed a drink or two in the sunshine. During the reception, I took group shots in front of the farmhouse of Chelsea’s family and bridal party and then took a group shot of the entire wedding group in front of the festival flags in the garden.
The festival theme continued into wedding breakfast. Table names were various festivals that Chelsea and Tom had been to, and guests wore flower headbands during the meal. It was such a simple idea, but it was great as it helped make some fantastic photos!
After the meal, I took Chelsea and Tom for a walk around the grounds for portraits. South Farm has so many perfect locations for photos. We made use of the rustic caravans and driveway and took photos in the herb gardens.
The first dance kicked off the evening celebrations. Chelsea and Tom danced to Motörhead’s cover of ‘Heroes’. A brilliant party followed with a packed dance floor and lots of crazy dancing!

Chelsea and Tom, thank you for having me as your South Farm wedding photographer. It was a cracking day to be part of and a pleasure to photograph!
